Youth Outdoor Summer Adventure
University Recreation - Stout Adventures is proud to offer a Youth Outdoor Summer Adventure Camp (YOSA) for the Menomonie area youth going into grades 3-8. The Youth Outdoor Summer Adventure Camp is an exciting way to stay active this summer. Additionally, the camp will help teach kids the basics to a new outdoor endeavor. This four day camp is jam packed with fun outdoor events. If your child(ren) are truly adventurous, then sign them up now for a great experience.
Please register your child(ren) for the appropriate session.
- Session I: June 24 th-27 th for children going into 3 rd-5 th grade
- Session II: July 14 th-17 th for children going into 6 th-8 th grade
The campers will be highly involved in low ropes course initiatives, the 7 principles of Leave No Trace, hand held GPS basics for navigation with a geo caching day, climb our two 50 foot towers and 30 foot rock wall and learn the fundamentals of knots, harnesses, and general safety while climbing. Additionally, a guest speaker from Western Wisconsin Land Trust Organization will give a presentation to the children.
The Camp begins at 8:00am and ends at 12:00pm each day. The registration cost for the camp will be $70.00 per child which includes a snack each day, some great outdoor prizes, in addition to an amazing camp. Parents are to drop off the children at the specified location for the camp. There will be additional Y.O.S.A. Camp Staff available on location from 7:30am – 12:30pm for an early drop off and late pick up service for an extra $10.00 per child per day. You must notify us ahead of time for this service. Space in each camp is limited to the first 12 registrants only. Be sure to get in and sign up soon! Registration and payment deadline for this unique summer camp is Friday, June 6 th.

Who are the Instructors
The Summer Adventure Clinic Instructors are all Stout Adventures employees. Each one of them is CPR certified and many of them have their Wilderness First Aid certification. They are avid outdoor enthusiast with a passion for each of the skills your child will participate in.
The Instructors are also Youth Climbing League Coaches and truly enjoy working with the children. They will teach your child about the outdoors and introduce them to skills safely.
Weather-Related Information
In the event of unfavorable weather, all activities will be moved indoors to the Stout Adventures Indoor Climbing Wall. Stout Adventures will make an attempt to call you in the morning if the weather is bad and the location of the clinic needs to be moved indoors.
Pick up and Drop off locations will then be at Stout Adventures. Each of the outdoor locations that the clinics will be held at have covered pavilions and bathroom facilities
Where to Drop off and Pick up your Child
We ask that you are timely when dropping off and pick up your child. During the first three days of each clinic, the drop off location is Stout Adventures and the last day please drop off your child at Menomin Park in Menomonie. As mentioned in the letter above, we will have Clinic Instructors on hand for early drop off at 7:30am and late pick up at 12:30pm service for an additional $10.00/day with advance notice. During that time Instructors will work on additional skills with your child.
